Yesterday I saw two sunbeams. They made my day. I hope you all have a perfect weekend.
Today's music:

We were alone, the two of us, taking pictures of the trees, the waves, the wind knotting and tangling our hair on our faces. She doesn’t like to pose much, so we turned to take pictures of the things around us.
- What’s this flower?
- A thistle
- And this one?
- This is a bramble, but the flower I don’t know…
- I’m sure gramma knows the name. Take a picture of it and we’ll show it to her. This is a nettle, isn’t it? This one sticks to you and stings…
For some time now I’ve been obsessed to make my daughters notice the world around us, not just the obvious or the things in front of our noses. When we are riding in our car we play a game of quick describing the things we see. A man with a brown umbrella, a red traffic light, electricity wires, an unfinished wall, a woman in a red coat laughing…
The truth is that looking the world through a camera lens is giving us a new perspective too. Trying to see what it’s upfront, but also what it is behind.
We saw a young man coming closer from afar with a medium size dog. A black dog of undefined breed and a happy face. The man walked slowly and half-looked at us disinterestedly. She came to a halt. She didn’t speak until man and dog had well passed by our side.
- The dog doesn’t harm me because I’ve stood still. If you stop, nothing happens to you…
- But dogs aren’t dangerous! You don’t have to be afraid of dogs. You just have to be a little careful and learn to understand them, but you don’t have to be scared.
- Sure… - she said, unconvinced.
I don’t know what to do to stop my daughters being so scared of dogs. I love dogs. Husband and I both have had dogs, we play with dogs when we meet one, we touch them, we talk to them and they see us do so. However, they are still afraid of them. Sigh.
- A mí no me hace nada porque me he quedado quieta. Si te quedas parada no te pasa nada…
Some far and big waves, and a playful and cold breeze, greeted us. We walked a little, chatting of her affairs, her grey eyes underlining every detail about her school universe. We found ourselves in front of a burnt forest. I remembered reading about that fire the previous summer. I was surprised by the trunks darkness, the branches fragility and the surrounding silence. Like blackened shadows, the trees headed to the sky. She felt some curiosity, some fear. She took my hand.
- I know what happened – she said
- Somebody has thrown some broken glass and then the sun and the glass burnt the leaves…
- Maybe.
- Or maybe somebody was smoking and didn’t know you can’t throw your cigarette on the ground. Smoking in the forest shouldn’t be allowed.
- Sure.
- Plus, there aren’t any fire extinguisers here.
- Nope.
- A whole forest can be burnt with a lighter, right?
- I guess so.
- Why would anyone want to burn a forest? The fire turns it black and the birds don’t come anymore.
- Claro.
- Además, no hay extintores.
- No, claro.
