The crying clouds and the exquisite pastries

Here in the north we all reckon there are traveling clouds which cannot help but cling to the mountains, embracing them in a long hug.And so they stay for days. Sometimes they cry, sometimes they don't. Sometimes, they get old and gray and sullen. Sometimes, they sneak away. You wake up one morning and they are gone. Thus, expecting to see them go, looking forward to raising the window blinds and greet the morning sun, we see the hours pass by. We meet up with friends or get together with relatives and invent the day, around some pastries, some games or a good meal.
After all, we are still vacationing.

::

A veces, desaparecen a hurtadillas.

Green and salty

End of July and the sun is finally shining
Can I keep this weather for a month?
I want some beach time, some salty green peppers on my table, some light, some warm air, some delicious tomatoes, some candy, sandals on my feet and the feel of summer vacation emptying me until there's only the hum of silence left inside.

Jane wanted to travel worldwide weekly through blogs, checking how different life in different places can be. In my case, apart from spending my scarce free time at the beach with family and friends, or drawing at home, getting an exhibition ready... lately all that is left is work, work.
For instance, above you have some pictures of the road I drive twice a month to San Sebastian. I love the green mountains I see and dislike its many curves.
Bottom picture is my breakfast today: as usual I've had chocolate milk, biscuits, french toast with butter and sugar, and orange juice.
Well, here you have a small pinch of my daily life.

Pastelito rosa

A pink moment can make you forget a grey one.

Yesterday we were warned of a hurricane closing on us. We aren't used or prepared for this kinda situation, so we faced it skeptically as another conversation topic. The way we are. We didn't have the slightest idea of what to do, further than collect our plant pots from the window sills.
And last night the hurricane hit us. An agressive and threatening wind which made me dubious of the security of the walls wrapping us. Nature seems to bring up our great fragility.
This morning I've grabbed the steering-wheel tightly as I drove to work. Electricity cuts, fallen trees on the way, men with power saws walking along the roads, scatered debris, bending eucalyptus and many, many unidentified flying objects in the air.
This must be a hurricane.

Save it for a rainy day

Amanece lluvioso.

We've woken up to a rainy day.
One of those days only surfers enjoy the beach, on their hunt for the forecasted three-metres waves.
Some of us choose more traditional pastimes.

The importance of being Baldomero

I have some family visitting at the moment.
Gina makes cakes.
The story here is that someone ordered a cake for a birthday party.
The name of the boy: Baldomero.
"For godsake! Who names their son with such a name? It doesn't almost fit on the cake!"
We laughed and laughed...

Tengo familia de visita por aquí.
Gina hace pasteles.

Yesterday night it was soup for dinner. Nothing extraordinary, I admit. But it was time for soup. Everybody likes to play with the soup letters. And now not a single one is missing.

If sugar was as sweet as you honey

It's not a dream. You don't need to be under ten to aprecciate this beauty.
