Hola. Ultimamente no tengo mucho tiempo para las palabras. Mientras que multitud de imágenes se han ido agolpando en mi cabeza y en mis archivos, no he encontrado tiempo de verbalizar todas las sensaciones, la excitación de cada dibujo nuevo, de cada preparativo y proyecto, la satisfacción de las serigrafías, el cansancio del trabajo o del maratón de la vida a diario.

Ayer tuve unas horas libres, ociosas, y para mi sorpresa no las ocupé apenas con nada. Me senté a ver los minutos pasar. Y por la noche, me puse a leer. Nada de libros de arte, una novela. Creo que era el momento perfecto para volver a llenarme con palabras. Por un día.

A veces me siento así.

Hello. I haven't given much time to words lately. While dozens of images were filling up my mind and files, I haven't found the time to verbalize all the feelings, the excitement of every new drawing, every comission or new project, the screenprinting satisfaction, the tiredness of works or the marathon coming from the daily life.

Yesterday I happened to enjoy some free time and to my surprise, I didn't do anything. I sit and saw the minutes pass. And last night, I got to read. No art books, but a novel. I think it was about time to go back to words. For a day.

Sometimes I feel like this.

Gone screenprinting

Finalmente visité a mi amigo Iker en su taller y me decidí a hacer unas serigrafías. La idea es trabajar luego sobre ellas, para crear una misma serie, pero que cada una sea diferente. Las pondré a la venta aquí antes de llevarlas a la exposición de mayo.

Finally I brought myself to visit my friend Iker and make some screenprints. What I have in mind is working in each one of them afterwards, so they are a series of unique pieces. I'll be selling them here online before I take them to the May exhibit.

Jane quería hacer una vez a la semana un recorrido para ver cómo es la vida diaria en diferentes lugares del mundo. En mi caso, aparte de intentar pasar mi escaso tiempo libre en la playa con mi familia y amigos, o dibujando, preparando una exposición... últimamente lo demás es trabajo, trabajo.
Las fotos de arriba son de la carretera que recorro un par de veces al mes hacia Donosti. Me encanta el verde que veo y me disgustan sus muchas curvas.
Y la foto de abajo es de mi desayuno de hoy, que como todos los días, consta de colacao con galletas, tostada con mantequilla y azucar y zumo de naranja.
Esta es una pizca de mi vida diaria.

Jane wanted to travel worldwide weekly through blogs, checking how different life in different places can be. In my case, apart from spending my scarce free time at the beach with family and friends, or drawing at home, getting an exhibition ready... lately all that is left is work, work.
For instance, above you have some pictures of the road I drive twice a month to San Sebastian. I love the green mountains I see and dislike its many curves.
Bottom picture is my breakfast today: as usual I've had chocolate milk, biscuits, french toast with butter and sugar, and orange juice.

He respirado el aire fresco de la mañana. He llegado al trabajo. He sucumbido ante una montaña de papeles. He resuelto, he charlado, he comido, he contestado a llamadas, he bocetado. He buscado un regalo de cumpleaños para mi madre. Me he recorrido veinte tiendas sin éxito. He vuelto a casa. Mis hijas me han abrazado. He hecho diez cosas más aburridas, de maruja. I've got up. I've had a shower. I've had breakfast. I've put some rimmel and some lipstick on. I've kissed my daughters goodbye, leaving on their little faces a slight mark. They are still enjoying their Easter vacation. I've breathed some fresh morning air. I've arrived at work. I've surrendered to a mountain of papers. I've cleared out, chatted, had lunch, answered phonecalls, sketched... I've looked for a birthday present for my mom. I've covered over twenty stores unsuccessfully. I've come back home. The kids have hugged me. I've done ten boring house things. I've read the newspaper. I've sat and drawed some stones...

Oh the perfect day!

Sí, ayer fue un maravilloso día de playa.
Y sabiendo que hoy el viento cambiaría y traería más nubes y lluvia, quisimos aprovechar lo que prometía ser un perfecto día primaveral. Nos reunimos con un montón de amigos y dejamos pasar el tiempo sobre la arena, ante el mar.

Yes, it was a wonderful beach day yesterday.
And knowing that today the wind would change and would be bringing clouds and rain, we wanted to enjoy what it seemed it would be the perfect spring day. We gathered with many friends and we let the time pass while laying on the sand, in front of the sea.

Como anticipé, tener unos días libres me está sentando muy bien. Descansar, dibujar, comer con amigos o visitarles en su casa. Ayer estuvimos en la casa de I, donde no sólo disfrutamos nosotros, también las niñas encontraron espacio donde divertirse... con las trompetas, por ejemplo. Me encanta su casa. "Husband, ¿a que es chula?"

As I had foreseen, these days off are healing. Resting, drawing, eating with friends or visiting them at their places. Yesterday we dropped by at I's, where we enjoyed it, and the kids who found the perfect place to play... with the trumpets, for example. I love her house. "Husband, isn't it cool?"

Escuchando a Pink Floyd, tengo uno de esos días. Llueve fuera y hace frío. Parece que el trato es de un día primaveral por cinco invernales... Sigo dibujando. Me entra un escalofrío, subo la calefacción. Pienso en todos los que se han ido de viaje, con más o menos suerte. Me gusta ver las gotas gordotas golpeando las ventanas y los tejados, haciendo volar a las palomas.

Listening to Pink Floyd, I have one of those days. It's raining outside and it's cold. Apparently the deal is one spring day for five winter days... So it goes. I keep on drawing. I shiver a little, I turn up the heat. I think of the people who are on an Easter trip, with more or less luck. I like watching the fat drops hitting my window panes and the neighbour roofs, forcing the doves to fly.
