Help!

Ok now. I need help. Your help.
Tomorrow happens to be Nutella's birthday. She´s turning five, you see.
I haven't had time to prepare a party well in advance and now I find myself mentally blocked.
Around nine children and twelve adults (how unfair I realize) will be attending. Mine is a small house (really small) with a small patio that will be probably rained on and, although I'm not too worried about how to fit everybody in (if they don't they'll have a reason to go out to the bar next door, I guess) I can't think of original treats, decoration or children's games that won't mean tearing the small place down.
What should I run out out to buy? What should I make myself quickly?
Any suggestions?

You can email me if you'd like to help.
(Remember I don't have the slightest idea of how to cook, so easy there...)

Thank you.

Bueno, ahora necesito ayuda. Vuestra ayuda.
¿Qué debería salir corriendo a comprar? ¿Qué debería ponerme a hacer?
¿Alguna sugerencia?

Muchas gracias.

Oh, I'm totally under qualified when it comes to catering. However, you could add an Australia element with some fairy bread (I think it's an Australian thing??? Not too sure... but as a child it was served at every birthday party).

It's so easy to make that even I could manage to whip some up. Here's a picture which may help: http://www.flickr.com/photos/gracia_louise/1349676499/in/set-72057594110221843/

Basically it's coloured sprinkles on bread and butter. It takes 1.3 seconds to make.

Best of luck. xoxo lj

how about getting some children's cookbooks and let the kiddos do all the work? kids love baking ;)
(only, I cannot guarantee the state of the kitchen at the end of that)

I have no kids but I know years ago I bought my little cousins (two boys) a british DIY xmas biscuit pack (rudolph the red nose reindeer, no less) and apart from ending up covered in flour (the kitchen and us both) we had a fab time.

Suerte y Zorionak a Little Nutella Princess!

When I was a kid we always played a game called "fishing rod" on b-day parties. It's hard to explain but I'll try:

The kids stand in a line and the first one throw a homemade fishing rod over a blanket (you are behind the blanket, on the other side and put a little bag on the rod filled with treats, candy, stickers etc..) the kid pull back the rod and gets his little surprise bag! continues until everyone got their treats:)

I'm sure you will make a great party!

what about simple vanilla cupcakes with chocolate frosting? you can do it! or chocolate chip cookies are always fun. or maybe you buy a cake and get some really wonderful candles and balloons? and play "pin the tail on the donkey". clearly, i'm not a mom, but i think any of this would be fun! wish i could pop over and help you make cupcakes. xoxo, k.

Good luck!
