The hand project X: paperdolls

I have two girl cousins of my age (we are only a couple months apart) with whom I have grown, year after year, week after week, summer after summer. When we spoke of our childhood and our present life we can analyze ourselves without fear of getting anybody pissed off. We accept ourselves as we are. And we are different. For us it's easy to see how our personalities have developed throughout time: M was a rebel then, now is exquisite and has great taste, always a fighter, rather fortunate and a level ahead of us in everything. A is brilliant, acute, realistic, familiar and not much interested in being meticulous.

When we were kids we played with paperdolls. We built houses for them, we created families and clothing. M was careful, a perfectionist and had paperdoll families impersonating tv series or comic books we hadn't heard of yet.

A chose to create large families, with enormous cars and M got upset because A could not handle them all too well. I was in the middle. We had a lot of fun. Those games have a lot to do with how we are now.

M's hands

Cute cousin story. I was pretty close to my cousins too, when I was little. Saw them everyday, as we lived next to each other. Nowadays I like to tease my male cousin about his role (Cheetah) in our Tarzan game ; )

that is so nice about cousins; you can be as different as ever but somehow the blood connection makes everything acceptable, subconsciously.

Beautiful post, Esti. Isn't it amazing how we can go past all of the little things with some people and just *be*? Wonderful.
