My grandma is an important character in my life. My family has been clearly marked by her presence and command. Her house was my childhood and my cousins' epicenter. She's been an active woman, great traveller and in past days, a very modern one: she smoked, wore trousers and drove a car when no woman did.
Her hands are the hands of a great cook, tender hands for her grandchildren and hard for the rest. Hands used to order, underline her temper or her opinions. These are the hands of a eighty-two year old woman, with six daughters, fourteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. When I grow up, I wanna be like her.

In the past few days I've received many suggestions enriching my "hands" project. If you want to participate in it, you are welcome. You can send me an e-mail with your little grain of sand. The idea being a photograph, a drawing or a painting of the topic "Hands", along with a picture of the hand(s) origin of the idea. You can come up with your hand portrayed or somebody else's. You can also write a few words if you feel like it or not write anything at all. Once the project contents are defined I'll be posting the development and final outcome of it.
(It's understood that by participating you authorize your submissions to be posted about)

Besos.
Your grandmother's old and beautiful hands!
It is wonderful to read. This “hand projects” is fantastic - it acts about life. You actually have good ideas! And I like this very, very much!
I hope for that you will come with more hands… I look forward…
Your grandmother sounds interesting (and has beautiful hands). Lucky you to have her! I'll be posting a short story of my grandparents too.
i have a love for this: you see my grandmother is in her 80's and wonderfully fit, too.
She is full of stories from her own childhood, her parents, etc... and we talk about doing a oral history of it, recording, etc... so she starts to tell me things i didn't know, in her own voicee, which is so soft hearted... get the idea, if your grandmother would love to use her voice to tell you about things that later, in the future others will listen to many many years forward.
Tell her hello. Love her feminist sensibility!
You're so lucky to still have your grandmother! Your drawings of her hands are lovely. Have you shown her yet?
