i want my hands to be drawn because i think they are full of secrets. they bear very little marks of manual labor but i do everything meaningful to me with my hands - write, dance, play, etc. there was a time i would only allow myself to be visually and auditively touched. now, ive conquered the fear of the warmth of the hands.
esti, the hand project is just beautiful!

Un motivo sencillo: porque me hace ilusión.

Oh...because I love every single hand i meet...always looking at peoples hands, full of histories...
My own is the second most important body part I got...they are my life, my happiness...thinking about how many things I use them for...every single second...practical boring home things (dishwash) haha, drawing, knitting, scratching my back, making food for my family, washing my body, saying hallo to other hands, they can be open, closed, happy, angry, sad, hurt, currious, speak...All of me are in my hands...

Okay maybe a little messy...but hope you get tha point...haha
my hands a wawing

Besos, Lu

Esti, now I'm confused. I thought, the participants are randomly drawn already??
Well, you know, I'd like to participae :)

I must be totally honest with you Esti...I would like to have my hands drawn by you because it would make me feel special and important. That is the power of art, I suppose.

I was going to give a more selfless, less egotistical reason...oh well...

You know I am a big fan of your work!

Esti said...

thanks everybody for participating in the new draw! Good luck!

karin, a number of names would be picked next wednesday, possibly by my kids who enjoy the fun (i'm still considering how many, thinking on the project and the time I have) and after that I would be drawing their hands. There isn't any hand drawn in advance since I need each hand silhouette traced and photograph!

And, for those who have already send me any kind of contribution to my project: I'll be making a zine or ezine or something next autumn with all the material and random art.

I want this project to reach as many of you as possible in one or other way.

Gracias

Hi!

I don't know enough Spanish to write you a coherent comment so I'll just write in English (another foreign language for me as I'm Romanian :) ). I've been watching your blog and also reading others belonging to the people whose hands you've draw for your project and I've seen the amount of happiness you've brought to them. So knowing the Hand Project is on it's last lap, I'm writing my first comment here to congratulate you for the great idea and fabulous results! Thanks for all the eye candy! ;) Oh, and of course I'd like to participate but that's your call so happy choosing! I hope you have a great rest of the week! :D

i love how you transform each person's hand from something utilitarian and functional into a beautiful work of art.

Esti, the photo is amazing! WOW!
well, just commenting... don't need to enter because i've already had my lucky day with it :)

love that picture! I'm so glad you're offering some more of your beautiful hands! I feel that mine are hopeless but in the past year I've been challenging them by taking up knitting and of course starting to play the piano... I did try drawing last year but my head didn't have the patience :)

by the way, I tagged you today. Hope you want to play!

no te he puesto motivos, pero me gustaria ver como interpretas mis manos... porque hasta ahora cada una que has hecho es especial.

hi esti,
i would like to participate to see the way you interpret me and my hands.
xx

jimena said...

Besos!

JUANAN URKIJO said...

I love your hand project and would feel so privileged to be a part of it.

My hands make things, take moments and freeze them, they give good back scratches and hold other hands. My hands have a history. I wear my grandmother's ring. I bite my nails and never paint them.

You have beautiful work, thank you for allowing us readers to be a part of your art!
