Determination

Yesterday: My cousin Unai took another step on his personal adventure.
Last year he succesfully completed The Around the World One Man Race, the Velux 5 Oceans. Just finishing would have been an outstanding result. Very few have made it. He finished third.
Next autumn Unai will be participating in the Vendee Globe Race, the most prestigious and dangerous non-stop Around the World Race ever.
Yesterday: Unai headed north to England where he will be taking part on a transoceanic race that'll take him to Boston. It's like warming up for what will come in November.
Yesterday: We went out saliling to say goodbye to him.

Agur!
See you soon!

Unos momentos/A few moments:

Night before departing. Getting out of port. A mast. Lighthouse. His boat moored to port before departing. My daughter N looks how her uncle is doing. Unai heads towards the horizon

And I outlined his hands for my project. Coming soon...

Wow! All the best of luck to him. He must feel 100% alive, being out there, him - his force and his know-how, the boat and the roaring nature. Wooooow:)) Sounds awesome.

good luck to Unai!
With your Hand project - do you plan it "just" as the drawings of hands ... or will there be text as well? It's interesting to hear their stories. And are the hands different (Unai's) because of all the sailing?

Esti said...

alexandra, his hands are rough and a little twisted because he's been sailing since he was four. I'll post more about him and his hands drawn completely soon. The hand project is still going on. I'm working in many more hands. And yes, they all have a story to tell.

andretti.
