Get away

get away
close your eyes
raise your voice
to a humming
only the ocean hears you

::

vete
cierra los ojos
eleva tu voz
hasta un murmullo
sólo el mar te oye

My daughters can fly

pencil, ink and papercuts on stiff paper
30 x 40 cm

my daughters can fly
they can lift themselves from the ground with their laughter
and they can lift myself from my solitude
my daughters can flutter their wings
and create rainbows of breeze,
whirlwinds of colors,
songs of their own
my daughters can fly

::

mis hijas pueden volar
pueden elevarse del suelo con sus risas
y pueden elevarme de mi soledad
mis hijas pueden batir sus alas
y crear arcoiris de brisa,
remolinos de colores,
canciones propias
mis hijas pueden volar

A glimpse at the moon made us young forever

Look, my skin is more wrinkled  every morning when I wake up, but my weaknesses have not changed.
My laugh resonates fuller, my happy moments are much happier.
My clothes hung loose on my bones and my shoes make no noise when walking.
My steps know their destination and my gait is mine alone.
My friends have been with me a long way and they know me well.
And at every full moon I marvel as if it was the biggest moon I have ever seen.

::

Parade

And I stand still, a few meters from the foam. Each wave is the same, every wave is different. The sea doesn't always speak in the same way. The spring sea is shy and strange, coming stealthily up our feet, as we walk by its side, ignoring it.

::

Memories are made of this

Will I cherish the joy of making forever?
Will I remember the glummy days and the joyful ones?
Will I relive the light filling the rooms upstairs while is dark downstairs?
Will I remember the things that made me laugh more than the ones that upset me?
Will I learn to live the moment and forget the things that aren't worth my time?
Of course, all of these and my memories will move with me.

::

This is my quest

This is my Monday, my beginning, my quietness, my silence. This is my tiredness, my sleepiness, my hunger, my annoyance. This is my certainty, my home, my family, my feeling. This is my body, my head, my shaken trail of thinking, my soul, my light within, my inner voice. This is the ground I stand on, the sun I grow with, the old rhythm.  This is my quest.

::

Another walk, another planet

because the south wind would tease the winter
because the waves would sound rowdy and playful
because other strollers would peacefully make eye contact
because sometimes it'd be too pretty to be true
because sometimes it'd be too quiet to be real
that's why I felt as if I was walking on another planet

::

Picnic necklaces

The calendar is not alone in my newly opened Etsy shop! Do you remember these necklaces I made for Marmalade's birthday party? Now you'll find a bunch of them to buy in the shop too.

"I would capture the sun
If you could make a blanket with it
To lie on the grass and to share our dreams
I would capture the sun
If you could make a necklace with it
To long forget the rain and the wind"

::

A green afternoon

::

Before the world turns brown,
before the wind cools twigs and barks,
before we put our hands in our pockets and our faces in our scarves,
let's play hide-and-seek
