On Christmas Day

....................................................................................

I don't know a Christmas Day of not gathering the whole family, over forty people, around my grandmother.
I feel fine among my people.
I feel fine when we meet and we are a sea of smiles.
I feel fine before understanding stares, wellintentioned words and home gossip.
I feel fine looking at the children building their own links, getting comfortable in their place in the family.
I enjoy looking at how kids show their personality and how we also build their image in our thoughts, their mold, their cast. The shy kid, the daring kid, the goodhearted one, the hippie girl, the dancer...
I look at my own mold, the way I'm suppossed to be, and I feel a little dissapointed. How is it possible that knowing each other so much, we half know each other?
We'll have to meet and rub each other a little more often...
Unai, have a happy christmas at sea. We miss you.

I love my family, small and far flung as it may be, but still if I were in my twenties again I'd be having many many babies to create something of what you have just described! How wonderful! Many blessings to you all.xx

Your honesty thrills me, as always.

I sat on the beach today and looked at a couple of sailboats and I thought about your posts about Unai!!

It's what I love most about Christmas Esti, the gathering of family. Though mine is not quite so big as yours, it was at one point when we were all little and my grandmother was still alive. And it will be again as the rest of my siblings start to (finally!) reproduce!

Looks like you had a lovely time. Merriest blessings to you and yours!
