Relevos... The exhibit

I am so glad to be taking part of this exhibit in Madrid, along with such talented artists as Nader Sharaf, Ana Bustelo and Iratxe López de Munain.

All four of us were comissioned by Impedimenta publishing company with a drawing each for some notebook covers. Ever since then, we've been constantly in contact and I've felt a very cool connection with them, as I had been secretly admiring their work for a long time. It seemed only natural to take the initial collaboration one step further, and began talking about a collective exhibit. And yes, here it is. 

The name of the exhibit: Relays.

Because we'll be exhibiting not only the original drawings for those notebooks, but also some takes on the others' art. And it has sure felt like a relay race to all of us. 

Please, come by to the opening to say hi and meet with us. Next Saturday Feb the 9th, from 20 h on, at Tipos Infames, in Madrid.

Estoy encantada de formar parte de esta exposición en Madrid, junto a artistas tan talentosos como Nader Sharaf, Ana Bustelo e Iratxe López de Munain.

Hace un año la recomendable editorial Impedimenta nos encargó un dibujo a cada uno para ilustrar unas libretas muy chulas. Desde entonces nos hemos mantenido todos en contacto y he sentido una conexión muy especial con todos ellos, y más aún porque llevaba años admirando su trabajo en la distancia. Llevar esta colaboración inicial un paso más allá nos pareció lo más natural, así que pronto empezamos a hablar de hacer una expo colectiva. Y sí, aquí está.

Su nombre: Relevos.

Porque no sólo expondremos los dibujos originales de aquellas libretas, sino también nuestras reinterpretaciones del arte de los demás. Y dejadme que os diga que desde luego he sentido que esto era como una carrera de relevos.

Os animo a venir a la inauguración, a conocernos y saludarnos. El próximo sábado 9 de Febrero, a partir de las ocho, en Tipos Infames, (C/ San Joaquín 3, Madrid).
