Nightmare

Right before Christmas I set work on this drawing for the "embroidery" series that I'm a little obsessed with at the moment. After drawing on shop windows I pulled a muscle in my shoulder but I didn't pay much attention then. But it has been painful, disastrous. Day after day I underwent a metaphorsis into a wild boar (a clumsy one), unable to turn my neck or stretch my right arm. After a month of anti-inflammatory taking doctor says the worst phase has past and all I needed was a weekend of rest. So after two workless days and some new medication I've reached my hand to the needle and the thread again. This afternoon I get back to work on this piece, the same drawing I've been hiding for days now, because, helpless as I was, I didn't want to think about it.
Tomorrow I'll post the outcome...

Oh so sorry to hear Esti. It's horrible to feel so helpless. Hope you are feeling better soon.
I didn't realise some of these pieces were embroidered! Beautiful!

yes, I do hope you'll feel better soon!

The embrodery idea is so nice. What size are you working in? How do you do it? I know that one way actually is to sew through the drawing .. and then remove the paper (a lot gets stuck though, so yo have to be patient) Maybe you can give me my answers tomorrow - together with the photo of the outcome?

oh, how maddening! well, you seem to be making the best of it. i'm much grouchier when stuff like this happens to me. i'm excited to see your embroidery; i hope things return to normal soon for you and for us so we can see your art.

p.s. thank goodness for anti-inflammatory medications :)

alexandra, i'm working small scale here: the drawing is 30 x 25 cm aproximately. I want to work in a bigger size, but I predict it'll be not so easy to handle, sitting in front of the tv, ha, ha... But I tend to think big anyway... The drawing is still in black ink and the only embroidered part is the red thread. The way I work is following my instinct. I just stich away as I feel. But the drawing remains as it is...
